Bible storyteller training
One-day advanced course for trained Bible storytellers
People with dementia experience a frightening confusion in the brain: atrophy and resources, despair and numbness, restlessness and high tension, longing for closeness and defence against any contact.
Unfortunately, cognitive memory training has no lasting effect on these experiences of incoherence, but rather shames them.
The latest research findings show that degradation processes in the brain can be balanced out by regenerative, neuroplastic remodelling and reconstruction processes. The self-healing powers of the brain and thus the sense of coherence can be effectively strengthened.
Bible storytelling encourages and inspires us to remember and open ourselves to a life with surprises, disappointments, problems, conflicts, miracles and adversities. Bible storytelling enables happy experiences of coherence: connected to God and loved by him; there is something that holds us and gives our lives meaning. Bible storytelling activates effective inner images that are anchored in the brain.
In this advanced course, we will discover together how this can work well and what needs to be considered when telling the Bible to people with dementia.
The advanced course lasts a whole day.
You will receive a certificate of attendance on request.
Please bring your own Bible story!
