Space & peace

Spend the night in Bestwig – in a quiet location, surrounded by nature and embraced by the special atmosphere of the mountain monastery. Here you will find a guesthouse for arrival, rest, and relaxation.

Wine tasting

Following the asparagus buffet, the next evening of indulgence at Bergkloster Bestwig awaits: On Thursday, 29 October 2026, is a winemaker Jason Groebe from Bergkloster Winery guest. He takes his guests on a delightful journey through the world of his organic wines. The focus is on the grape varieties „Really delicious“ and „Cuvée White“ as well as exciting insights into their production and the winery's philosophy.

The organically grown and unfiltered wines represent a natural, unadulterated taste. An invitation to try, enjoy, and engage in personal exchange with the winemaker – in the special atmosphere of the mountain monastery.

You are welcome as our guest at any time and can personalise your stay. From the Bergkloster Bestwig you can go on hikes or cycle tours, follow in the footsteps of history or discover nature. And you will always return to the spiritual atmosphere of the monastery.

Check in, breathe out: 47 bright rooms await you in two guest houses - from spacious comfort single rooms to family rooms with bunk beds. All rooms have their own bathroom, WLAN and a view of the countryside; some have a TV. There is space for up to 68 guests in total.

The Bergkloster Bestwig offers space for meditative, creative, theological and socio-political seminars, meetings, conferences and training courses.

We also have rooms for yoga and other courses.

You are cordially invited to take part in the sisters' prayer times. If you wish, a sister will take time for a chat or prayer or for silence together. In this way, holidays and quiet days can become a spiritual time.

Space for a time-out

At Bergkloster Bestwig you will find what everyday life robs you of: Silence. Clarity. Power.

We invite you to take a break from everyday life, to leave stress and demands behind, to come into contact with the source within you - to breathe deeply - to rest - to become still, to draw new strength and joy for everyday life.
