Königsmünster Abbey

On Sunday, 6 September 2026, a guided hike will start again on the northern route of the Monastery path from Königsmünster Abbey to the Bestwig mountain monastery.

The start is at 11.00 am at the abbey. At 9.30 a.m. there is the opportunity to attend mass in the abbey church beforehand. The route leads mainly along farm tracks and smaller, tarmac roads, although there are also two longer climbs before Eversberg and Föckinghausen. In the afternoon, around 3.30 pm, there is an opportunity to stop for coffee and cake in Föckinghausen. After that, it is almost all downhill to the mountain monastery. Sturdy footwear is still recommended. Participants should also take sufficient drinks with them (depending on the weather). Arrival at the Bergkloster Bestwig is around 5.30 pm. From Bestwig, there is a return journey to Meschede by bus and train. Registration is not necessary.
