After the great response in 2024, the guided hike will take place on the Monastery path from Bergkloster Bestwig in the direction of Meschede on 28 June 2026 as a sunrise hike.

The start is at 4 a.m. at Bergkloster Bestwig (please note the current information). From there, we will climb the Ostenberg at dawn, where we will celebrate Holy Mass at the highest point at sunrise.

From Ostenberg, the route continues to Wehrstapel. An extensive breakfast is planned there at around 8 am. The route then continues to Meschede, where the hike ends at Königsmünster Abbey between 11 am and 12 noon. Sturdy footwear is required for this route, as shorter sections lead through narrow paths.

Torches can be useful on the first section (depending on the weather, it is already dusk from 4 o'clock). In addition, every participant should have food and drinks with them. From Meschede there are return journeys to Bestwig by bus and train. Registration is not necessary.
