You are welcome as our guest at any time. You can organise your stay as you wish. From here you can go hiking or cycling, follow in the footsteps of history or discover nature. And you will always return to the spiritual atmosphere of the monastery.
It is a pleasure for us to create a space for you to rest, reflect and develop your strength. You can use our light-flooded monastery church, the crypt, the meditation room and the monastery park to pause and experience unity with yourself and nature. The entire environment is designed using the art of Ikebana and can be a place of harmony, strength and inspiration.
The Bergkloster Bestwig is the seat of the provincialate of the European Province of the Sisters of St Mary Magdalene Postel. It was established between 1965 and 1971 as a motherhouse and has been the place of residence for many sisters ever since. It is also a place where sisters spend their twilight years.
You are cordially invited to take part in the sisters' prayer times. If you wish, a sister will take time for a chat or prayer or for silence together. In this way, holidays and quiet days can become a spiritual time.

The Bestwig mountain monastery and the Benedictine Königsmünster Abbey are a good 15 kilometres apart on foot. This is exactly the right distance for a day's stage.
The two religious communities therefore decided to create a route from one monastery to the other. This resulted in two routes, the north route and the south route. Or the way there and the way back.
