We reflect on and exchange experiences – our own and those from many centuries ago. A Chinese wisdom says: „The quieter you are, the more you can hear.“ Or Nietzsche: „The path to all great things passes through silence.“ Or from K. Tucholsky: „In complete silence, you hear the whole world.“
The piano piece 4‘33‘‘ by John Cage (1912 – 1992) strangely touched me: Cage sat at the piano for 4 minutes and 33 seconds, played no note and stood up. Silence – a state free of intentions. And: One of the most extraordinary concerts in the world is being given in Halberstadt. It has already begun. But you don’t have to rush: you still have over 600 years to go!
