Dorothee Sölle, an evangelical theologian, writes: „There’s really nothing we can do,“ this phrase that has been said a thousand times kills the soul. I consider this helplessness to be one of the deepest forms of present-day godlessness. We can’t deny God more precisely than with the phrase: ‚We can’t do anything about it anyway.‘

We can do so much, and yet helplessness seems to have become the dominant social sentiment today. We want to confront this trap of helplessness. In the exchange, we ask ourselves: How can we overcome our inclination to the sweet poison of helplessness? How can we break out of the comfortable prison of helplessness and contribute to this world consciously and with hope? Do we know any people or literature that encourage us?
